Character
Indigo Estates is one of the newest family neighbourhoods in Collingwood. It has a young, friendly feel, with streets like Tracey Lane, McLean Avenue and Dey Drive, and a lot of kids on bikes. The rail trail runs alongside it, and the planned new hospital site at Poplar and Raglan is nearby.
Homes you'll find
Eden Oak built a mix of detached homes and townhomes here. The builder's homes are sold out, so today you'll be buying resale. In September 2026, Town council approved assuming the subdivision's roads and services, meaning the Town takes over their maintenance from the developer.
Amenities & walkability
Admiral Collingwood Elementary School is right in the neighbourhood at 15 Dey Drive. Hurontario Street leads straight downtown, and First Street shopping is a short drive.
Trails nearby
The Train Trail runs beside the community, so you can head north to the waterfront or south and east on the extended County rail trail, which now runs nearly 34 km to Angus through Stayner and New Lowell.
Who it suits
Young families, first-time buyers moving up to a detached home, and anyone who wants newer construction with a school and a trail a short walk away.
Schools & shops
Admiral Collingwood Elementary School is close by. Collingwood's public elementary schools are Admiral Collingwood, Cameron Street, Connaught and Mountain View; high school students attend Collingwood Collegiate Institute (public) or Our Lady of the Bay (Catholic). School boundaries shift as town grows, so I always have buyers confirm the school for a specific address with the board's school locator before they fall in love with a house.
Peter's take
If you're comparing Indigo Estates with Pretty River Estates nearby, I'm happy to walk both with you and talk through the differences.
